Movers We moved from a second floor apartment with a not-horrible amount of stairs to a second floor apartment with a nightmare of a staircase. Unfortunately, we didn't think to request three
Movers, so it was only two guys, and they nearly broke their backs for us. We felt awful, but they smiled and joked the whole time, and were absolute professionals. From that day on, we knew that there would be no other
Moving Company in the Bay Area for us - MA was where it was at. We moved from the "insane stairwell" apartment to one with an elevator. Again, they were fantastic, professional, and very fast, especially with three of them. My husband had to work that day, so it was just me overseeing the move, and I felt totally comfortable with these guys. I had a long conversation with Sean as we set up the move, and he advised me that he had heard of other people having damage issues when using these trailers. While I still decided to go ahead with the trailer, he very helpfully let me know what items I could provide (rope, moving blankets, etc. They worked for over an hour to fit everything perfectly into the trailer, maximizing the 18' height and making sure that everything was stacked safely and properly - like filling an enormous grocery bag. In the end, they were able to get everything into a 10' space, which was amazing considering I was quoted at 11', which meant that they had saved me at least $500 dollars. Any moving day is stressful, but the MA guys bring their amazing attitudes and make you feel better. You can tell that they like working together, and they like what they do. They only had a few dozen reviews last time I used the company, so it makes me happy to see they're doing so well. They could move three boxes and huge bookshelves like they were nothing. In addition to being efficient and burly, they were so darn nice. I hope I don't have to move again any time soon, but it's nice to know that if I do, there's a reasonably priced company that's there when you need them. Sean was great about getting us boxes and the movers were quick, friendly, and professional. The first was moving a whole household with lots of heavy furniture into a quirky house with small staircases in the Berkeley hills. It was done quickly, with a smile, and with no dents. This time, it was moving the equivalent of an apartment out of the same quirky house into another difficult place with stairs. The rates are more than reasonable and the movers are a pleasure to work with. It's unbelievable how much they can pack onto their backs. We will be using their services again when we move next month. They are hourly but came in to the time we expected. There was a large scratch damage on the floor from moving furniture though. As much as I was hesitant about hiring movers who don't use contracts, do not own a truck, are not licensed or insured and take cash only, this guys turned out good. Thank you and thanks to Shawn too for making this quick, easy, painless and cheap. These guys are truly pros, and super friendly on top of it. Their pricing is very competitive and Sean was in good communication with me prior to my move date. This company does not compensate any DAMAGE or LOSS that happens during moving. In 1 day after the move, we found an expensive plant is missing. They took it out from the old place (this is correct because I took photos of the old place after they moved all the stuffs out). One crew member was interested in my plant during move, though I don't judge that he would steal. He promised to call back but did not for another 2 days. Sean, the chairperson of this company, never return my email/phone, and does not resolve this issue. He said they don't have insurance, but they WILL pay outof their pocket on any circumstance. It is not possible you can record and remember every step. Movers anoynmous is great in the sense that crew members are kind and diligent. After the first move (two years ago) went so smoothly, I didn't feel the need to even shop around. Their rates are very fair, Sean and his moving team (Chris and Eric) are extremely professional, and the entire experience was surprisingly a breeze. Sean was extremely responsive and made sure I felt taken care of. Chris and Eric took care of EVERYTHING and had such a positive attitude. They were amazingly quick finishing hours earlier than I expected. I can't praise them enough and will not think twice about calling them for my next move. If moving can ever be made fun, Sean and his crew have unlocked the secret. When Gary, a veteran mover in Oakland stepped into our box-filled apartment, his first words (after introducing himself) were "We're gonna have some fun today. No surprises here, except to learn that the experience of moving doesn't have to be a chore. I called a few times, left several messages - finally now after 3 days I've given up and gone with a different company. If we do not return your call, we are probably too busy to accommodate you. Since I was unable to speak, several people did not hear back from us. Again, we're focused on the moves we are performing and our clients would not appreciate us stopping every 15-20 minutes to answer the phone. Movers Anonymous came through and the price was right. The movers were very efficient yet were careful with my valuables (antique desk and dining room table) In addition I own an old upright piano - most movers will not touch the thing// -they knew what to do. If you ever need anything moved big or small , I highly recommend Movers Anonymous Was this review …. Chris, Sy and Crispin showed up right on time with smiles on their faces. I could really tell that Sean & Chris pride themselves on their reputation as movers and really strive to be good businessmen. Sean was great on the phone, he called me the day before to confirm the time that they would show up & they were there promptly. Our move did take longer than we thought, primarily because my girlfriend hasn't thrown anything away since the fourth grade and we were those annoying clients that basically refused to lift a finger with the move. We did move stuff in the car but if I'd helped with the boxes, it probably would have gone faster. About half way through the move, the guys came to the sad conclusion that they'd be moving boxes in to our new place at midnight so Sean came by with another guy to assist. When he brought over the other guy, he stayed for about an hour or so & moved some boxes in to our truck, checked up on things and even took time to chat with me while loading boxes about the state of
Moving Companies in this economy & how they've been doing. I know it is lame but that's what I think any good business owner should do. I could really tell that he takes his business seriously. When they took breaks, they went off the clock (which I didn't expect) and they were very upfront about it. The guys were carful with our things & even individually brought up boxes that my girlfriend had marked very fragile, which means they actually read the boxes & paid attention to what it was that they were moving. Bottom line is I'm sure there are a lot of great movers out there and a lot more shady ones. They show up on time, have a GREAT attitude, the price is right, and they get things done quickly and efficiently. Nothing broken, no scratched walls, nothing dropped down the eight flights of stairs. They were fast and furious, and we are so grateful. We also hope for your sake its the last move for a while. We'll also talk in the future about bigger truck options, but sometimes you just need to do two trips. I am so pleased to hear your were happy with our service. Please call on us if you need movers in the future. I heard about the exceptionally difficult access at your unload location. The guys often describe those difficult situations as 'billy goat trails' and we were proud to muscle through it for you. And, thanks for understanding and having faith in our guys. Many thanks again for hiring us and we wish you well in your new place. All I had was a Dodge Colt hatchback, and a whole bedroom of furniture. In no time, all of the stuff was stowed away and ready to move into the new room across town. They were very professional, knowledgable, friendly, polite and extreamly fast. They just kept moving boxes and furniture with smile on their faces. I have worked with other movers on my last move about 2 years ago and they were terrible. So when I needed to move again, this time I checked local movers on Yelp and found Movers Anonymous with all good reviews. Now I totally agree on what other posts say (all good things) about Movers Anonymous. Sean called the night before to confirm of my move and Chris and Eric showed up on time and started woking right away. Their bill had no hidden fee and actually less than I expected as the move was quicker than I thought, thanks for Chris and Eric . I'd request their service on my next move and recommend to anyone who's moving. Sean is a good listener and very articulate about the service he and his staff offer. They showed up right on time, were totally polite, friendly, helpful - and they hauled. It took them 4 hours to do what previous movers took 13 hours (. They were also excited by the new place I was moving into, and were genuinely happy for me. Sean was great, from confirming the move date (which changed, what, two or three times. Oh yeah, and did I mention this guy is the epitome of calmness. Highest regards for the guys at Movers Anonymous, so much so that I'm rethinking the opening statement "moving sucks", because with these guys. Their professionalism and skill made our move as painless as possible. I'm a control freak, but something about the way they handled themselves and my things made me feel like I could just hand the entire process over to them. We had two pick-up stops, and stairs at all three destinations. We had to move a lot of stuff in one day and they got the job done. When things got tricky with our move, they were able to adapt and still get our stuff moved quickly. I've had to move a few times in the past five years and have used a few companies. The man has patience and great communication skills. Then, of course, there were the neighbors who did their best to get in the way or impede the move, but Sean and his staff maintained smiles and professional attitudes at all times. I was impressed, and I am not sure I could have done the same. They are outstanding, they move fast, they make everything look easy to haul, and they almost make moving enjoyable. We enjoyed your positive approach and thank you for understanding schedule changes. We're glad we got you moved and the outcome was what you wanted. We sincerely hope you enjoy your FANTASTIC new place. I relied solely on Yelp reviews to hire them and everything is true. I had a ridiculous amount of boxes to carry (apparently a world record for a 2 bedroom apt, said Chris) and they really saved us. They put all the boxes in every room of our new home saving us a lot of time when unpacking. He suggested that I asked for a parking permit for the truck on the moving day at the city hall. I lived in a busy street and by doing this, I saved a lot of money as the truck was parked in front of my door and these guys had little to walk to access the truck. I needed someone that wasn't going to gouge us for moving nearly 50 miles away and for having stairs at both locations. Movers Anonymous have the best reviews on Yelp and, let me tell you, those review are dead on. Sean and Cy are so professional, freakishly fast, super cool, and totally honest. As if those qualities weren't enough, they cost hundreds less than the other two estimates I received. The reason I gave them four stars instead of five is that our bed frame got pretty banged up in the move. I've moved several times in the last few years, and previously always used Delancey Street. This time, Sean was so responsive to my initial call and seemed so cool, that I thought, why not support someone new. His guys turned out to be equally awesome -- I forget their names, but they were funny, efficient, attentive and hard-working. Had me moved into a new place within 3 hours, and even spent extra time in the house trying to figure out how to get my funny enormous bed up a teeny 1904 staircase. These guys are great, but let me get the one bad thing out of the way: they were a bit late. So having the mindset that something else needed to get done that day shouldn't really exist with a big move. But Sean was super polite on the phone and was very empathetic on the phone when the team was late. When Cy and Crispin showed up, they were super polite and apologetic as well. I never really felt like I had to read all the reviews. But now I know why their first names are constantly mentioned. All the while being professional, courteous, productive, strong as all hell, and extremely talented in their trade. I seriously could not believe how well they packed that truck. Our stuff would have been totally safe moved across country, and yet I was only moving 4 blocks away. The whole process from booking to finishing the move and of course, tipping was as simple as can be. I called/emailed several companies and found Sean to be honest and straightforward. Gary and Sy worked their asses off -- I've used many companies before and have been MEH with the results.
